Is there any scarring left after hair transplant surgery?

Hair transplants that use follicular units only have no visible scarring in the area is transplanted into. Follicular Unit Transplants (FUT) generally produce a thin line in the area where the strip is removed.

With the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method, tiny white scars appear in each follicular unit in the donor area. If other scarring does occur, there are two effective treatments that can be performed after.

Scar revision (changing the direction of a hair transplant scar) and camouflage (hair is transplanted directly into the scar) are used to reduce the visibility of any scarring there might be.
