Is hair loss hereditary?

Most of the time, hair loss can be traced genetically. Adrogenic Alopecia is a hereditary hair loss condition that can effect both men and women, and it can be inherited from the paternal side or the maternal side of the family. Hair loss may skip generations, but since it is brought on by a number of genetic factors, it may not always skip generations. It is common that a father and son might experience the same pattern of hair loss.
