How long does a hair transplant take?

The hair transplant procedure can take approximately 8 to 10 hours. However, you won't see the final result for about a year. The procedure involves several steps that do require patience. After surgery there is a healing time, then the newly transplanted hair sheds, a waiting period of 3 to 5 months, then the gradual hair growth period for the next 6 to 10 months follow.

This may change depending on the patients goals and the level of baldness. Some hair transplant patients require more than one procedure. It is recommended to discuss these goals and changes with your hair transplant surgeon.
